Audio Test

Audio test is complete. Thanks everyone, for your feedback. I went with the one that seemed to work for almost everyone.

  1. 1, 2 and 4 work well, 3 plays sound, but the tracking doesn't work. 5 is just a black box for me.

  7. I have been trying to listen, but the previous links never work for me. I see 5 links and I can hear numbers 3, 4 and 5. I am using Internet Explorer 8 with a Vista operating system.

  15. Not only did all five samples work for me (FireFox, Windows XP), but I was listening to them while some drums & bass music played in the background. It was absolutely perfect. :)

  18. All worked for me here on the website; on my blogfeed, #5 didn't show up or play. (I'm using Chrome on a Vista OS.) I use Google Reader and view it through my iGoogle homepage using their Gadget.

  20. 1-4 all played fine for me on Google Reader, using Google Chrome, though the bar didn't track on the 3rd. When I loaded the page itself, 5 also worked, though it played automatically.

  21. All five worked for me (Windows Vista running latest version of Firefox with loads of add-ons like Adblock & NoScript), although #5 appeared as just a black box. Still played when clicked, though.

  23. I like 1 and 2 myself. 4 works, but either I can't find the volume control, or there is none. 3 played the audio, but the tracking was broken. 5 was a "Video is loading" box. I'm using Firefox 3.6 on Windows XP Pro SP3.

  28. I'm on firefox, and 1, 2, and 4 work fine. The progress bar doesn't display on 3, and 5 was a black box that displayed a volume shifter when I clicked it.

  31. I'm using Google Chrome, and I was playing them directly in Google Reader, my RSS-feed reader.

    1 - 4 all worked perfectly. 5 didn't show up at all, and when I clicked through, it prompted me to download the clip.

  32. 1, 2, & 4 work perfectly. 3 plays the sound, but no tracking. 5 doesn't show up. I view the site through google reader in chrome.

    When I came to the site to post this comment: 5 played automatically when the page loaded, 3 still didn't track correctly, and 1, 2, and 4 continued to work perfectly.

    OSX, Firefox & Safari: 1, 2, 4, 5 work perfectly. 3 doesn't move, but plays.

    Chrome is what I usually use.

  81. Hi there! I'm on Firefox 3.5.7 on MAC OS X 10.4.11 and I was able to hear all 5 without a problem.
    The only visual issue for me was #3, the bar did not move but the sound played just fine.

  84. All 5 worked for me but I had to click the play button twice for 3 and 4. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.5.7. #5 loaded very quickly too. The rest took a few seconds.

  110. On IE 7 (DON'T LAUGH), 1-2 are dead and 3-5 work fine. I can get 1 and 2 working only f I view the page source, scoop out the actual URLs for the media files, and plug them directly into the browser.

    2, 3 and 4 work in the google reader gadget on google chrome (4.0.249.49), 1 and 5 do not. 1 is blank space and 5 is a black bar.
    1 also works directly on blogspot in google chrome, but 5 is still just a black bar.
    With FIrefox (3.5.5) and Safari (4.0.4) they all work when viewed directly on the blogspot site.

  117. For what it's worth:
    #5 is probably going to be your best option as it is "player agnostic" and the others rely on what version of flash a person has installed - has nothing to do with browser much at all.

    My suggestion is to use #5 OR upload your own flash player to maintain consistency. Otherwise, you use one of these external flash players and the URL changes or it goes the way of the dodo - all your links are broken.

    Uploading your own it is always there and you can update it (and not all your links!)

    5, 5? where is the fifth? (there's something but it seems i need to download a plugin).

    Firefox on XP, will check firefox on Ubuntu (Linux) at home and let you know.
