Here's what my loving husband had to say as our one-year Anniversary dawned this morning...
"Today couldn't have been any more perfect. Knowing you were on a slow train in hell, oh, that would be the cherry."

"Finger painting's fun. I need to get some more fingers, though. Give me your fingers. Oh fuck it, I'll just cut 'em off. You've got pretty fingers. I can do some pretty painting with those pretty fingers. Toes, I can use toes! Yay! I'm sorted. Fingers and toes."

At least he thinks my fingers are pretty.

All this talk of fingers reminds me of Tom Lehrer's "I Hold Your Hand in Mine"...   8^)

  9. I was eating cereal as I listened to the Finger Painting one, which is something that I do not suggest to anyone else. The scent of milk will remain in my nose all day.

  10. Do you think maybe he meant he was sordid? Because cutting off fingers and toes is definitely sordid, and not sorted.

  11. Well, 'sorted' used in that way is very English - it's like 'all set', 'good to go', 'taken care of', that kind of thing - but you definitely have a point about what he described being sordid!

And Happy Anniversary, you two... here's to many, many more! :)`

  34. For an anniversary present I will tell you a sleep talking story in return. This weekend my 6 year old daughter (who talks in her sleep) and I went on a mini vacation with my husband's sister. While I was trying to go to sleep I hear my sister-in-law chuckle in her sleep. I then hear, in response, my daughter chuckle in her sleep and then say "yeah, I know." Apparently since I was not asleep I was left out of the conversation.
