"Bring it on, King Kong. I'll kick your monkey ass right back to the jungle."
"My pony's for sale. Yes, it fucking works! I wanna get a stripey zebra instead."
or click here___________
Karen's note: Speaking of King Kong, check out Adam as the great gorilla and me as the distressed damsel in our re-enanactment of the classic film:
Now, come on, who is the Photoshop Master?!
To explain why I happen to have this around, we did a series of these iconic cinema re-enactments for the table theme at our wedding. I hope no one is scared off by seeing so much Adam.
Added later: In response to lots of requests, the rest of the set are now in an album on the Facebook fan page.
A zebra without stripes is otherwise known as a pony - of course it's time to move up in the world!! Go Adam!!
ReplyDeleteking kong vs. adam... hmmm wonder how that went! lol
ReplyDeleteNow, did he say zEEbra or zEbra?
ReplyDeleteMy money is on the big monkey...
ReplyDelete*dreams of riding a big Zebra*
ReplyDeleteSure the pony works? :D
ReplyDeleteI see an animal theme here. ;p Someone's feeling confident.
ReplyDeleteDon't we all wish we could visit some Adam's dreams? ...and watch at a safe distance.
ReplyDeletea man abouts the wilderness...lotza furry animals...creatures of the night...the holiday honeymoon vacation, elephant noises...it all fits now...he needs his fix at the zoomoopoooh, but, don't cross him...he's bound to get a tad excited'n kick the * daylights outta ya once and for all, don't tempt him with any bananas or he'll KingKong you to..!!!...
ReplyDeletewith a change of heart at least only as one can tell him 'only in your dreams' with his sweetalk back response...... its gonna be quite! The Zoo since he's moved on up from that pony sale he had to barter for that special stripey zebra--- was no feat, but he's in a happy heehaw now where he gets what he wants...quite unruley that Adam, but that's what floats his boat, dolitle to get a lot...
being in a riproarin' mood, he sez it's time to join the 'circus; watchin' as we step into this door to his mind, wired for sound...appetizers to follow...and semi-entertainment acts for your enjoyment...includes rope and whipcracking lessons! from dusk to dawn. woowooWhatup! Disco Jungle Party by the Jersey Shore! ...costumes optional...GTL...and then it's back to the plank...shoulda known... :+P
Oh, yeah, Brits say "zebra" with a short e. And we use that word more here than in the States, because the places that you can legally cross the street are called "zebra crossings." So now I say zebra with a short e like an idiot.
ReplyDeleteCan I have permission to use the King Kong line? If I ever get into a fight, I want to use that line, see what happens with it. I bet the fight ends and there is a good laugh!
ReplyDeleteBut I hope you do not get into a fight, nor have the need to use this line. I would hate to think you use this line by way of confrontational avoidance and then get your arse kicked from here to kingdom come!
ReplyDeleteGreat musings this morning. And I love love LOVE the picture. Would you be willing to share more of your cinema shots?? I bet it was a great wedding decoration. Keep those sleep induced ramblings coming! *and thanks for opening your lives up and sharing with the world just for our amusement.
ReplyDeleteLove it all - and yes, Karen, you are a Photoshop Master!!! Digital photography has brought so many wonderful skills into our lives!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome stuff! Love the audio (didn't know Brit's said zebb-rah, neat and StRaNgE lol. Canadians say it zEEbra too ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the audio (yes, I know I said it already, it's a hint, hint nudge nudge for more, More MORE) :-)
Thank you two! You're great!
Just wanted to let you know that I just found this blog last night and read the majority of your husband's...colorful phrases outloud to my mom. She laughed so hard that she ended up crying and begging me to stop, which is a trademark of approval in our house. ^_^ Great stuff. Thanks so much for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteLOl FAB photo! Bet they gave all your guests quite a chuckle at your wedding.
ReplyDelete"Bring it on King Kong"!!! :-)) :-)) :-))
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the outcome of THAT was?! And if there'll be a rematch one of these nights. :-P
"Bring it on King Kong...." Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhere does he come up with this stuff?
How much for the pony? If I had a zebra I would trade.
ReplyDeleteWow - I love the picture, what a fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteMind if I share the idea with a newly engaged girlfriend?
Keep it up Adam and Karen and have a wonderful honeymoon!
Sherri
Marchalice, I was just about to say that :) And it makes me giggle "course it fucking works" I can just imagine me going to view a potential horse and turning to the owner and asking "does it work?" LOL!
ReplyDeletesherri, be our guest. we had loads of fun taking these pictures and they went down a storm at our wedding. we can't wait to go on honeymoon, no cold, wet london for over two weeks!
ReplyDeleteHe says Zebra in a way that rhymes with Deborah. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI want a zebra too, but there are too many motorcycles in the garage and Smitty's precious BSA takes up all the room!
ReplyDeleteYay your sunshine honeymoon! I'm a bit confused I read the other day that you live in New York. That's the tabloids for you! Love the photo you could set up a company that creates photos for couples/friends etc like that... Just an idea.

ReplyDeleteAdam, if ya need to bring the pony to our house, let me know. My husband may not be too happy taking on another one, but it might just fit right in...
ReplyDeleteThe pic is our Arabian stallion.
No worries about King Kong around here either. Watch out for his right hook.

ReplyDeleteGlad he's not selling the donkey.
Having trouble with the link but this photo is SO great! And no wonder Adam isn't worried about King Kong. He looked much smaller on television...
ReplyDeleteWell, a person ought to be careful about second-hand ponies..... did Adam come clean about the roll-over damage? 7@=Q
ReplyDelete"Yeah well." as film critic Mitchell Prettyplace puts it in his definitive 18-volume study of _King Kong_, "you know, he _did_ love her, folks."
-Thomas Pynchon, "Gravity's Rainbow"
Nope, The pony is broken. The zebra, however, runs like a dream...
ReplyDeleteReally, Adam, I am absolutely convinced that you were a deranged zookeeper in the last life.
