I have been trying to listen, but the previous links never work for me. I see 5 links and I can hear numbers 3, 4 and 5. I am using Internet Explorer 8 with a Vista operating system.
Not only did all five samples work for me (FireFox, Windows XP), but I was listening to them while some drums & bass music played in the background. It was absolutely perfect. :)
All worked for me here on the website; on my blogfeed, #5 didn't show up or play. (I'm using Chrome on a Vista OS.) I use Google Reader and view it through my iGoogle homepage using their Gadget.
1-4 all played fine for me on Google Reader, using Google Chrome, though the bar didn't track on the 3rd. When I loaded the page itself, 5 also worked, though it played automatically.
All five worked for me (Windows Vista running latest version of Firefox with loads of add-ons like Adblock & NoScript), although #5 appeared as just a black box. Still played when clicked, though.
I like 1 and 2 myself. 4 works, but either I can't find the volume control, or there is none. 3 played the audio, but the tracking was broken. 5 was a "Video is loading" box. I'm using Firefox 3.6 on Windows XP Pro SP3.
I'm on firefox, and 1, 2, and 4 work fine. The progress bar doesn't display on 3, and 5 was a black box that displayed a volume shifter when I clicked it.
1, 2, & 4 work perfectly. 3 plays the sound, but no tracking. 5 doesn't show up. I view the site through google reader in chrome.
When I came to the site to post this comment: 5 played automatically when the page loaded, 3 still didn't track correctly, and 1, 2, and 4 continued to work perfectly.
1, 2, and 4 played perfectly fine. 3 plays, but doesn't track. 5 just says "Waiting for video" and doesn't do anything when clicked. I like the look of 2 the best.
I'm using the latest Firefox on a Windows 7 machine. 1-4 play fine, but the status bar doesn't move on 3. 5 is a black box, but if I happen to click in just the right spot, it still plays.
working with IE7 on vista, and 3,4,and 5 work for me fine, was having trouble with the quicktime but i use it with itunes so don't know what the deal was
Hi there! I'm on Firefox 3.5.7 on MAC OS X 10.4.11 and I was able to hear all 5 without a problem. The only visual issue for me was #3, the bar did not move but the sound played just fine. Thanks for the post - great fun! :)
All 5 worked for me but I had to click the play button twice for 3 and 4. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.5.7. #5 loaded very quickly too. The rest took a few seconds.
I've got Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Vista. Only number 1 worked for me. Do the others require an add-on of some kind? I've got Windows Media Player and Quicktime.
On IE 7 (DON'T LAUGH), 1-2 are dead and 3-5 work fine. I can get 1 and 2 working only f I view the page source, scoop out the actual URLs for the media files, and plug them directly into the browser.
im using opera i had no issue with any of them on your blogsite so i decides to test them in google reader and number 5 didnt show my personal preference would be 1 or 2
2, 3 and 4 work in the google reader gadget on google chrome (4.0.249.49), 1 and 5 do not. 1 is blank space and 5 is a black bar. 1 also works directly on blogspot in google chrome, but 5 is still just a black bar. With FIrefox (3.5.5) and Safari (4.0.4) they all work when viewed directly on the blogspot site.
For what it's worth: #5 is probably going to be your best option as it is "player agnostic" and the others rely on what version of flash a person has installed - has nothing to do with browser much at all.
My suggestion is to use #5 OR upload your own flash player to maintain consistency. Otherwise, you use one of these external flash players and the URL changes or it goes the way of the dodo - all your links are broken.
Uploading your own it is always there and you can update it (and not all your links!)
All work- and make my day, every day, multiple times! And since I'm from the US, the "accent" (it is to me!) just makes it even better. Keep 'em coming!
thanks so very much for fixing the audio issues, much appreciated. i am hooked on this blog. congrats on your honeymoon and i do hope you have a wonderful time.
This is the first time any of them have played for me. It was just a black bar for a long time, then it was the little Quicktime logo that wouldn't play. I'm so glad I finally get to hear these!
This is the first time that I have been able to listen to the audio. The Pirate quote is so much better than I could have EVER imagined. I'm going back to listen again.
