or click here(whispering) "Shhhh. I have to tell you this. But I have to be quiet, or I'll get in trouble. (normal tone now) Midgets. You know, small people. People of pathetic height, I think that's what they're called. Yeah. Diminutive folk... in drag, scare the shit out of me. But only in drag. Don't know why. Must be something from my childhood. Mmm-Hmm. Scary shit though."

Karen's notes: These are from the nest egg. Too bad the recorder didn't catch Adam whispering his opening disclaimer.
Merch news: After much clamoring yesterday, I put "All I want out of life is ice cream and cuddles" in the shops. Shirts and mugs! While I was at it, I also added "Shark cuddling: The next extreme sport".
There's a special on for the rest of August! All tank tops and muscle Ts are 25% off. Use coupon code NOSLEEVES at checkout (except Canadians, use CADNOSLEEVES).
If the first quote is put on a shirt and worn in public, that person should not be filing any sexual harassment suits. Hope any little people following the blog don't get offended by the second one though. Probably not seeing as the m word wasn't used.
ReplyDeleteScratch that, he did use the m word. Beware the leprechauns.
ReplyDeleteI can't see the ice cream and cuddles t-shirt in the UK shop :'(
ReplyDeletekutekitty: sorry about that, I just finished adding them!
ReplyDeleteI assume that in his waking life, Adam has nothing against drag queens, midgets, or combinations of the two. At least I hope not . . .
ReplyDeleteOops, I meant little people.
ReplyDeleteLMAO he knows very well he's being politically incorrect, hence his whispered "I'll get into trouble!"
ReplyDeleteThanks for Sharks! on the shirt! Woohoo!
Sounds like he is saying "Midgets. You know, DRUNK people..." Love this blog!
ReplyDeleteI'd be pretty darn happy to see drag queen midgets, er...little people. But I don't know how "little people" isn't offensive.
ReplyDeleteI agree Marilyn B! I've always thought that I would much prefer to be called a midget or a dwarf, rather than a "little person". How did THAT get to be PC? What's wrong with midget and/or dwarf?
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps he's saying, "Dwarfed people?" Which I suppose is almost correct.... (I'm pretty small myself, so I can understand why they're sensitive about being categorized as anything other than human, though.) I could easily pass for a boy with a quick change of hair and clothes, and I wonder if that would scare STM?
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! (Now, roll on payday!)
ReplyDeleteI think 'little person' is an American hyper PC thing. It's stupid, and most of the vertically challenged folks I know actually prefer dwarf if the condition is genetic (dwarfism is an actual hereditary medical condition) Midget is usually considered offensive, however, due to its ties with the carnival sideshow industry.
ReplyDeletetechnically, a dwarf is a person who has the condition dwarfism, and a midget is someone who has no specific medical condition but is 5 foot tall or less. I only know this because everyone calls me a midget, and I have to tell them that technically I'm 1 inch too tall to be a midget...
ReplyDeleteDon't sweat it ST! Midgets in drag scare the shit out of me! And I'm a Mad Yank with many guns!
ReplyDeleteBring forth Midgets in drag, and clown make up, and all you'll see of me is a streak of shit, and a cloud of dust!
Ren & Stimpy flashback! 7@=Q
ReplyDelete("Circusss....... midgetssss".........)
I really want the butt cheeks one for a shirt as pajamas!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteok the Cuddles and Ice cream I can see that on a dog shirt. I have a chihuahua that loves Ice cream and to cuddle( then again what dog doesn't) but pleeease put cuddles and ice cream on a dog shirt.
ReplyDeleteThis has nothing to do with the PCness or not, but I think "midget" is a fun word. Just to say: mi-jit... I also think "compunction" is fun, com-PUNK-shun. Which really has little to do with anything. And STM's childhood must have been interesting indeed!
ReplyDeleteIn drag I'm generally fine with, shorties (hey, if I'm gonna be un-PC I might as well go the whole hog, right?) I have no problem with... even clowns don't scare me... but midget-clowns, now that's what scares the livin' crap outta me!
