"BLECH! You can't give me that cottage cheese shit. It's like albino diarrhea."

Karen's notes: Well, here's something Adam and STM have in common, a profound disgust for cheese curd. And who could blame him? It DOES look like albino diarrhea:

Added later: Best comment - "THANKS for that awful comparison-- I'll never be able to look at albino diarrhea the same way again."

According to my A-Level biology teacher, cottage cheese is biologically no different to baby vomit!!! Don't know how true it is but I like to believe it! I share Adam's disgust and extend it to all cheese!!!!!

  2. Cottage cheese is lovely! Especially on toast with marmite, or in a jacket potato =D

  3. ...Well, that's ONE food I'll have trouble eating from now on. :(

  4. Actually, back when Adam and I had our first relationship (see "About" page for details), I was going through a phase of eating cottage cheese with honey mixed in every morning. Since then, I wonder what the hell I was thinking. -Karen

  7. I've been stalking this blog, laughing my ass off for almost a year now, and I'm not sure if I've ever commented before. Hi!

Cottage cheese with honey? Was that while you were in England? I love cottage cheese, but I couldn't get myself to eat it when I was staying with my boyfriend (he's a British citizen, I'm American- we have something in common, Karen!) earlier this year, since it appears to be much more acidic or sour or something compared to what I get in America. Being openly experimental with food, though, now I'm kind of curious to try that...

  8. I've visited a factory where they make cottage cheese. They stand in it in wellingtons, and mix it with plastic spades. The whole place smells like sour vomit. It put me off cottage cheese for life. (and I bet it does the same to anyone else who spends more than 30min there).

  9. ...now after Mallory's comment-
it put me off for life too...thanks

  11. Heck no. Cottage cheese and fresh pineapple is one of the most sublime concoctions known to man!

  12. @Anthony:

Well, baby vomit will consist of milk, curdled by stomach acid, plus digestive enzymes. Cottage cheese is made from milk (usually cows'), plus a lactic acid culture, with or without rennet (digestive enzymes taken from calves' stomachs).

So, more accurately, cottage cheese is almost indistinguishable from baby cow vomit.

I'm not a fan of cottage cheese, but I love most other types. I'll admit that the cheesemaking process is fairly stomach-churning, though! (No puns intended)

  13. hey!!! I love cottage cheese.... it's good with just about anything, except I don't like it with fruit. there have been times I have lived off of it by necessity.
core a tomato and put some cottage cheese inside it (add some spices or decoration), and it makes a great appetizer!

  18. I've heard of mixing cottage cheese with honey to use as a face mask if you have acne, but not eating it.

I prefer mixing it with peanuts or sunflower seeds.

  19. I can eat it mixed with pineapple, more like a white sauce for pineapple though.

  20. I would guess cottage cheese with honey would be similar in taste to the Greek yogurt with honey. Just lumpy! My kids hate cottage cheese, thanks to years of visiting grandma, who only served them cottage cheese with pineapple rings, for lunch! Sometimes she would open the can, pour off the juice, use it to make lime jello, pour it into the can and chill. Then she would cut the rings apart and put on the cottage cheese. I loved it when I was little. The cheap store brands are not anywhere as good as the expensive ones. So, if you haven't tried them, do, before you vow off it altogether. Is a "jacket potato" a baked potato, one baked in its peel?

  21. Mmmmmm... cottage cheese with chopped tomato, avocado, and lots of pepper. Or with peaches. Or on toast. In lasagne. I love cottage cheese. Don't care if it looks like albino diahrrea or is no different than calf vomit. Bring it on! Yumma!

  22. I'd think that curds and whey are more like calf vomit than cottage cheese is. But all cheese is solidified milk fat, i.e., the whey separates out.

But STM, curd cheese is lovely, creamy, chewy, flavorful.

  26. I love that BLECH. STM really sounds utterly horrified :P

I must admit I never tried it, at least I think not. But I am absolutely crazy about cheese and I have yet to find a cheese I don't like.

  27. A proper Israeli breakfast is tomato, green pepper, onion, olives, olive oil and herring and bread and marg and I'd give my eye teeth for that from time to time...

  28. As an American, I had no idea "albino" was pronounced "al-bean-o" in British English. We Americans pronounce it "al-by-no." Funny.

  29. I used to love cottage cheese, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to get the mental image of it being "albino diarrhea" out of my mind. Thanks for posting that.

  30. You (not to mention STM) are being totally unfair to albino diarrhea.

  31. Oh, God...cottage cheese?! Disgusting!

  36. I really like cottage cheese.... it is good with only about anything at all, except I don't as it together with berry. there has been periods We have resided away from that by simply necessity.
primary a new tomato and place several some kinds of cheese inside (then add herbs or decor), plus it is really a excellent appetizer!

  37. You are a very interesting person who interpreted cheese as a comedy very informally. Recently, I have been uploading various videos and images to entertain people. However, as people's interest changes, I am not interested in my photos and videos. What's the problem? Please review my website. 카지노사이트
