"Mango-munching monkeys. Crazy swinging creatures."

"I'm totally too bad-ass for tango. Cha cha cha!"

Karen's note: About four years ago, I volunteered at an animal sanctuary in Brazil. I had a special monkey that I took care of, named Kurma, and he LOVED mango. If I gave him mango in his dish, he would ignore the rest of his food. I have lots of pictures of him with mango all over his face.

  1. The "cha cha cha" makes that one of the funniest tings Adam has ever said! If my other half said things like that in the night, I would wake him up with my laughter!

( well i googled s'more lookin' for that famous quote ringing in the back of my mind :

"Crispy spoke and sang with a voice based on that of Jimmy Durante including the nonsense phrase "Ah-cha-cha-cha".

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Durante

i think he has a bit of THAT flair that emerges but doesn't really let it on in the real world
to shock waking Adam...the charmer he is,
---- baaaad to the bone, with a bit of kick &
    shuffle in his steps.

then i hit upon this...i know it wasn't Karen but it all had the flavor for todays theme in odd ways too...

  11. OMG, I about wet myself when he did the "cha cha cha" at the end! xD

Karen, you have to be one of the luckiest women in the world to have a husband as amusing and outrageously funny as Adam! He'll be making you giggle well into your days of sitting in a rocking chair with the grandkids around you! Of course, he'll be asleep in his rocker talking about monkeys or goats or lentils. ;)

  12. Most of us are much more clever if we're just slightly inebriated and Adam pulls it off without the booze. Too bad we can't all do that...

  13. daydreamersdaughter: It makes sense, though. The reason we can be a bit more clever when we're slightly drunk is that we aren't as inhibited by our inner editor. Our defenses are down. It makes sense that when Adam is sleep talking, what is coming out is his totally uninhibited, unedited thoughts.

  19. Karen, about a month or two ago I was having a particularly awful night. I was stumbling across the internet with nothing catching my eye. I was vexed. However, I stumbled across this blog and by the time I was done reading my eyes were streaming and I couldn't breathe. I was laughing hysterically. My parents thought I was completely nuts, or possibly hyperventilating. Since that Night I have checked the blog everyday and I get my daily chuckle. All I've been asking for birthday/christmas/easter gifts are tee-shirts and mugs. Have you thought about creating gift certificates? I think it would be a fantastic facet for selling your merchandise not to mention create more addicts! =-p

  20. Awww - that's a wonderful pic of Kurma! What a terrific idea to do these volunteer vacations with the animal welfare groups, Karen. Have you done others?

I'm the other way around from most - it was the "totally too bad-ass for Tango" part that killed me!

  21. Thanks for sharing Kurma with everyone Karen - soo sweet and that expression is just priceless!
I hope you and Adam know how much you help make people laugh and smile and start off the day thinking: "Today is a good day. I like today. Today, I feel good!" lol
