"Oh, the badgers have returned! And this time they're carrying heat."

That's "packing heat", Baby. I love how he tries, and so miserably fails, to use a slick Americanism.

Those who have been reading the blog are well aware that the return of the badgers is to be feared! (see Jan 20; Jan 1; Nov 4)

And here's how Adam woke up:

__________

Karen's notes: I'm off to the States for a week and a half! So, expect the blog to be posted about 6 hours later than usual. I love you guys, but not enough to wake up at 2 am every day.

STM: FUCK YOU!
ADAM: Oh!
KAREN: Baby?
ADAM: Morning! Oh dear.
KAREN: What happened?
ADAM: Mmm..... No idea.
KAREN: Well, at least you put some thought into it.
ADAM: I was trying to see if I could remember any image, if I was dreaming and... nothing. I just remember knowing I shouted something... probably rude.
KAREN: Oh, you just shouted "Fuck you!"
ADAM: Well there we go then!

  6. 'Carrying heat' is a phrase that is used to mean the same thing as 'packing heat'. I've heard both used and a quick google of the internet with the search phrase 'carrying heat gun' proves this to be the case. Perhaps STM was using his Americanism as intended?

Packing heat does seem to be the more common, but not universal, variant.

  9. But is carrying heat the equivalent of packing mushrooms? That's the true question we should be asking. Seriously.

  13. Well why wouldn't the badgers be packing heat? Haven't you heard of the "Right to Arm Bears"? Why should the bears get to run around bristling, while the poor badgers go without? Haven't the badgers the right to self defense? Must the badgers suffer the arrogant bears without so much as a pistol for their own protection?

NO! THIS SHALL NOT STAND!!! It is time for the badgers to unite against this travesty! Let those who stand in our way have care of their ankles!

It is time for Graffiti Monkey to once again lay paw to paint and describe the manner of this prejudice! Let the world know of this cruel denial! Let the Vampire Penguins drink of their life's blood, and Guineapigasaurus lay waste to their toenails! Let all these things be done and more!

THE RESISTANCE RISES AGAIN! ONCE MORE INTO THE FRAY!

I'm glad to hear from you, though! I was worried that the way the audio of you and Karen ended so abruptly, that you might have been the victim of the next "Merry Widow"!

  23. Firewood! Lots of firewood! A big wind came through up here in the mountains and blew over a bunch of oak trees in the neighborhood! I've been whacking them up, and dragging them home to heat our cabin with.

I've got enough done so I can take the odd day off after work for a visit!
