"Why must I choose? Dog or fish. Dog or fish... Fish... ARGH, I get it wrong every time!"

 or click here

That beauty was from the night before last. Last night was a quiet one.

Now, check out this weirdness. This is from May 18:
"Oh allergies. Come in and make yourself at home, and really fuck up my summer."

and this is from May 15:

(For those who don't have access to audio, this is Adam saying almost exactly the same thing, three days earlier. What a truly odd husband I have.

Shameless merch update: New stuff in the shops! I added these to shirts and mugs:
"Christ on a bike!"
"Your blue sky thinking is blighted with dark clouds of piss-poor ideas."
"They're not love handles. I've got love impact protection barriers."
"Keep close to me. My love is infectious, and there's no cure."
"Jellyfish are attacking. Everybody grab your ice cream guns!"
And there's only 4 DAYS LEFT for the buy-four-get-one-free special on shirts in the US shop. US $ customers, use code MAYSHIRTS, Canadian $ customers use CADMAYSHIRTS.

  1. One of the few perks to being a quasi-insomniac on the east coast... Getting my STM fix just before bedtime. :)

    Excellent.

  2. yeah! a fellow insommiac! lol

that ARGH would have made me jump if someone sleeping near me did that.

and the allergics ones..that's the truth..they do mess things up ( and it's weird he's repeating)

  3. Does Adam suffer hay fever or similar then? I do, and it sounds like something I would say in great sarcasm.

  4. Dog or Fish? Goddammit dogs are way better. Adam should never have chosen the fish.

That is really weird how he repeated himself. Maybe he had a repeated dream. I've had that before.

  5. Another insomniac here too! currently 4 a.m. here in Saskatchewan :-(

That is too trippy having almost the same quote a few days apart!

Have to admit, I'd choose the dog too LOL.

  6. I know the pain allergies can bring in summer. Can't go out, can't do anything. Poor adam.

The dog or fish one makes me laugh so much. I love "ARGH, I get it wrong every time!". Story of my life.

  7. Jesus Christ on a Bicycle was a favorite expression of a British friend of mine. I need the t-shirt now!

  8. I heard a new favorite today on a blog: "Jesus H Christ on a porch swing!"

  9. Say, how did it go with the jelly spaghetti? :-P

  10. Karen,

I just had a brilliant idea after reading the shameless merch plug. Some of these would make excellent sticky notes. Say you have to attach a little note to something for a co-worker and the header on the sticky is the "blue-sky thinking" quote. All of them, really, would be AWESOME. I used to have a sticky-note pad that said something to the effect of "Just be glad you're not the guy who has to collect the urine samples." My personal new favorite curse is "Christ on a bike." Thank you both for this funny funny stuff. My husband and I are devoted followers.

  11. My sister says 'Hot Christ on a cookie sheet!' Cracks everybody up. I love the dog and fish one.

    Ditto on the sticky notes!!!!

  17. Yeah, that's a tough one

I can never tell whether it's a duck or a bunny, myself...... 7@=Q

  18. I agree, the allergy one should be on a shirt! My husband says that one hit a little too close to home!

What happened to the badger tickling shirts?

  19. Aaaaahahahahaha!!! The plaintive "why", the tense build up, the bold choice, and the Charlie Brown "arrggh!"

And "I get it wrong every time" Totally cracks me up. I mean, what exactly made one or the other the incorrect choice??

  20. Any chance of larger-than 2xl shirts sometime becoming available?

    ReplyDelete
  21. ditto "Dog"

    Fish.

  22. Dear Diana Troldahl, I am happy to put more 2XL shirts into the shop. Please send me an email to contact@sleeptalkinman.com and let me know which quote you would like.

Christie, I sometimes take products down to keep the shop under control. But I am happy to put something back in for you. Please send me an email.

  23. Yes, sticky notes would be fabulous! I know that they wouldn't make as much profit but I'd certainly buy more of them than I do t-shirts.

  24. For some reason I read the 'choose' comment like he was trying to make a decision between two meal options, like "chicken or fish". Which made it extra weird when fish turned out to be the wrong choice. Keep 'em commin!

  25. Does Adam like fish and chips? One choice in fish & chip shops that's less common now is 'rock salmon' or 'rock', aka dogfish.

When I was younger I used to remember some people call it dogfish, although the idea of eating 'dog' meant that that term wasn't popular. Nevertheless, being teenagers, we'd often ask for 'dogfish' just for the hell of it.

So I wonder if this is a primitive memory in Adam's head of the connection between rock and dogfish?

  26. Dogfish! Cutest little sharks ever! The aquarium I went to as a kid had a petting tank for them.

  27. The closing paragraph tells all of it in my opinion. I need to say that I agree with it, and the most wonderful factor about it is that you left it open ended…this exhibits that you are ready to draw in new and completely different opinions and that you are finally very interested to see folks getting concerned within the subject. So, any different opinions?
