Karen's notes: I was getting a bit nervous, what with Adam's quiet nights recently. Clearly, there was no need. Who the hell was my white, Jewish, queen's-English husband channeling with his "peace out muthafucka"?

Merch update: Two new quotes in the shops: "Yeah, I'm shapely. I'm a great big gorgeous shape, and loving it." and "Gin helps.... everything." Get 'em while they're hot!

  1. I wonder if the "True, blood" thing was related to the television show True Blood? After all, some of the characters get quite wacked out on vampire blood (an excellent drug in-universe), especially in this past season... plus one of the characters has almost definitely said "peace out muthafucka." Any chance Adam has seen/heard of the show?

  4. Zoey -- 'True, blood' is urban British slang for 'Yes, my friend' or something like 'Word, homie' that I'm far too white and middle class and British to say in real life.

  7. Ha, I do love those chav pilots!

So Adam channels a pirate and a gangsta in one night, and best of all, manages to sound genuinely apologetic about bagging up his nasal hair.

  11. Instead of "Sorted", I think Adam said "Sordid"

I think the first one may be a new favorite!

  14. wait.. was that a hiccup? right after 'seriosly man'? you had a hiccup in your sleep??

  15. I agree that I think it's sordid instead of sorted, buuutt... you're his wife. I could be entirely wrong :)

  16. I disagree. 'Sorted' makes much more sense in that context, as it's a Brit word for "no worries, I've got it all sorted; I'll take care of it" - that kind of thing. :)

  17. It's most definitely "sorted" and not "sordid". It is a Brit thing. We use it quite often.
    Sorted!

  18. ButMadNNW: THANK you! I was WONDERING what that meant!

  19. Well that definitely sounds like something from HBO's True Blood tv show:) and the 'peace out' bit sounds like something this fabulous character named Lafayette would say:P

  21. T-shirt : "I am mega wacked out"

Normally I want the whole quote, but without the profanity, I could wear that one EVERYWHERE (I am still not quite brave enough to wear certain ones on soccer mom duties!)

'Mega wacked out' is hysterical. I know my kids will be saying that. "Mom, I can't HELP it. I am mega wacked out!"

  22. i thought of lafayette as well!

  23. Over here in California, in the northern areas, people from certain neighborhoods call eachother blood. It derived from gang affiliated speak but has become more and more accepted as slang. So you could say "What up, Blood?" and it is like saying "What up, Dude?" Can't believe sleep talking man is using Cali slang!!!

  24. It's a common slang phrase among blacks in the UK "True, blood!"

  25. I am in Silliness Heaven!! I don't usually have a lot of trouble picking a favorite, but it is v-e-r-y hard to choose between #2 and #3. In fact, can't be done. :)

  26. He also said "Seriously man. I was mega wacked-out. True, blood. Peace out, muthafucka," in an American accent. Must be American movies.
