"You opened the pickle jar didn't you? Yeahhh. You're gonna take over the world, aren't you? Yeahhhh. You rugged son of a bitch."

Yup, pretty sure STM is looking at himself in the mirror on this one.
"Take the crayons away from the doodlebugs. They'll draw over everything! Messy little fuckers."

Of course, we have no idea if STM was referring to this kind of doodlebug:

or this kind:

Although Adam swears he only knows about the latter. Funny guy.

  1. To a Brit, the first kind are called woodlice. STM has usually used British terminology in the past, no?

  3. Stuart - Yes, woodlice. We see a lot of woodlice in our garden, and Adam's son is REALLY into them. Neither of us had any idea that woodlice are a kind of doodlebug until today.

  4. He sounds so proud of himself for opening that jar. He MUST be looking in the mirror. STM doesn't give anyone else that much credit!

  5. A doodle bug is a kids toy that draws patterns when you put pens into it?? My sister and cousin have one.

  6. I always call the BMW beetles "doodlebugs". Maybe STM is a car lover?

  7. Also people who get a sudden urge to draw doodles everywhere they go, (like on napkins, scraps of paper, corners of books etc) are sometimes said to have "caught the doodlebug" and the said people can be called "doodlebugs", which would make STM's comment very true as if you leave a doodler(to give them another name) long enough they will have covered every spare space with doodle's!!

  9. Dunno if they have them in the UK, but in southwest Texas, we always called antlions "doodlebugs":

  11. We used to call the bugs in the top picture Rolly Poly bugs. Funny how one bug can have so many common names.

  12. there's a new computer game called 'your doodles are bugged' which involves drawing. Dunno if it's relevant, but it reminded me of it.
