"Wow. I can't believe I got punched in the face by a cow! Those bovines have bad attitudes. Total bitches. Oh, that's gonna leave a mark."

I presume those outside the UK won't get this one. Dick Turpin was England's most famous highwayman. Think of him as the Billy the Kid of the UK.

Merch news: I've added some new quotes to the shop. You'll find "Why pray when you can google", "I've got some fabulous nail polish for that camel toe" and "You must have Imitation Bowel Syndrome"!

AND, Spreadshirt is doing a new promo: If you manage to spend $50 or £50, you get $10 or £10 off your order. Your order has to include a long-sleeved shirt (it's all about autumn), and it's only until Oct. 10.

  1. Hmm, didn't have any bovines in my dream, but there where crazed bears and talking mutant ostriches. Luckily the ostriches didn't like the intelligent zombies anymore than me. ;P Go, TMO! Let's beat those zombies!

And nice with some new quotes in the shop, Karen. :)

  4. I'm guessing that Terrapin being related to turtles is a UK thing, because if so that's a new one to me.

  5. @Anon: Terrapins are actually a North American species of turtles.... 7@=e

  7. In UK English, "turtles" are specifically watergoing (i.e. have flippers, e.g. leatherback turtle). A land-based one is a "tortoise" (e.g. spur-thighed tortoise, giant Galapagos tortoise, star tortoise, Hermann's tortoise).

  8. @Herm: further, many UK English speakers would describe all freshwater turtles as "terrapins", using "turtle" to mean "sea turtle" exclusively.

"Dick Terrapin" made me literally laugh out loud.

  9. I am a turtle girl (love them) and terrapins - so I LOVE This one! As far as turtle semantics - at least here in the US, a Tortoise is land only, a terrapin is water and land and a turtle is a water only. I personally, love them all.
