  2. A really fantastic appearance on This Morning - Adam seems much less aggressive than how I often perceive the comments which is probably reassuring. The video on youtube doesn't show the full interview but is probably the best way to access it if ITV videos aren't accessible outside the UK.

  3. I watched it on the ITV website...and oh how I giggled!

I read your blog every morning before going to class and it really gives me a little boost to start my day with five minutes of hysterical laughter, so thanks Adam and Karen!

  4. I read your blog and LOVE it! It is so funny. I have to agree that I thought Adam would be more aggressive from how I read the comments and now I love reading it all the more knowing what a gentle man he is. Congrats on your Blog!

  5. Me and my older brother found this a week ago and we've checked the blog everyday since in histerics. :)
You two seem like a lovely couple and we look forward to more hilarious sleep talking. :)

  6. I hope Adam doesn't have nightmares about inviting Philip Schofield to spend the night with you guys!?! I dread to think what sleeping Adam will say if Mr Schofield pops into his dreams?!?!?

  7. Hi.I discovered your blog yesterday (Sunday) via Times Online.
My husband also talks in his sleep, and his utterances are often as bizarre as Adam's. I've tried recording some of his ramblings on my mobile phone, but by the time I've fumbled for it in the dark and turned on the recorder, he's always stopped the chatter and started snoring again! We both had a really good laugh reading all the entries.

  14. Just wanted to say this is the funniest web page I have ever read. I've just split up from my boyfriend and whenever I'm feeling sad I read all of Adams rediculous ramblings and it brings a smile to my face. Thanks a million

  15. It seems as though Adam is a very grumpy person just reading his nightly contemplations! I'm sure he isn't really though :)

  16. Such joy you bring me! And I feel all warm and fuzzy toward fizzylimon for his efforts to channel Adam...so good to laugh!

  18. This is seriously the the most hilarious thing I've ever read. I don't think I've ever laughed this hard! And you can't imagine the amount of tears streaming down my face when I read the one with the horse in the bedroom. I couldn't even breathe..

  19. Good job on the telly. You're right about the YouTube must watch link.

  20. This is very questionable. We have all had dreams, and we all know that our personality does not differ in dreams. If we are afraid of upsetting people then we don't become a psychopath who enjoys upsetting people in our dreams. We essentially think and and act as we would in reality. Why? Because to our brains it is reality.

Anything he said in his dream he would believe he was actually saying in real life. If you don't say "CUNT OFF" to people's faces in real life, you wouldn't say it to someone's face in a dream. I'm sorry, this is just not believable.

Unfortunately I'm calling bullshit on this.

  21. Thank you again for posting my video on your blog! And I hope to be able to continue reading :)

  22. Thinker - i respect your point of view, however as most of the sleep experts who have been interviewed have stated, sleeptalking does NOT take place during your dream state. it is a separate element of your sleep and therefore the theories of dreams do not fit here.

there has been a lot of research done on sleep talking (Somniloquy) and all the research agrees you are more than capable of saying ANYTHING in your sleep from mumbles to talking backwards.

i am not trying to convince you, i don't feel i need to as i have stated you are entitled to your opinion, but i actually felt the need to alert you to the common mistake you have made when relating sleep talking to dreaming.

thank you for taking the time to read and comment in this blog.

  23. I watched you on This Morning!! Oh my day I have never laughed so much at your blog and I passed it onto my friends and we had a giggle as we hung out last night!! You are all over my Facebook page and everyone wants to know about you guys!! Thanks for making me smile ^_^

  24. I was able to watch the YouTube clip. It's hard to reconcile the mild-manner Adam with the sharp-tongued SleepTalkingMan. I can't wait for the audio! And Karen, thanks for the emphasis you putin to illustrate *how* he said these things. I can practically hear him!

  25. awesome!
every one of my fellow canadians ive shared your blog with has laughed hysterically!
thanks... all the best to you both!!

  26. This has been too hilarious and a regular talking point at coffee since it hit the office a week ago.
Unfortunately, even though the queen (or Gene Wilder)is on my money, we in Canada do not get to see the clip.
It appears the events of the day can influence the nightly ramblings (Pirate Day) so do you ever try to pre-program Adam? Maybe a little Barry White before bedtime would make for some good comedy?

  27. Ha ha! Brilliant..

I do regret not keeping note of my other half's sleep talking...

My favourite two from him were:

    'There's lavender in the spreadsheets'

And one time I woke up around 3am to discover he'd fallen asleep on the sofa (again - he's an insomniac) with one sock on and the other off. I started taking off his other sock and he said 'No, no - I need them'. He had actually opened his eyes and I thought he was awake.

I replied that he didn't and I was going to put them in the washing machine. He answered 'I need them as samples'. This made me laugh and I asked 'What? To prove how smelly your feet can be?'. He gave me a rather confused look.

And no - he didn't remember either one in the morning.. Bless..!

  28. Again - thank you Karen and Adam. You always fill my afternoons with tears of laughter!

    Love to both!

  29. Wow, I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard that I cried, and I have laughed a LOT! I actually stopped myself from reading the entire blog just so I could save some for later, haha! I have a couple of favourite sites that never fail to cheer me up when I am feeling down. Your blog is definitely the newest addition. I can't wait to share it with all my friends, and I am DYIN to get a t-shirt!

    Thanks, y'all!

  32. Thank you for the Youtube link! It was fun to put a face/voice to the words. On that note, please post more audio! I look forward to Adam's nightly ramblings every morning the way some people look forward to their coffee or the newspaper!

  34. Just watched the 3 minutes on The Morning Show. Both of you are absolutely gorgeous in manner and looks. Well done. Best of luck to you both. Just don't let anyone hook Adam up to probes (WTF?!). We love you just the way you are ("We don't have a plank. Just fucking jump!") Solid gold. Shana. Australia.

  35. ffs those who wanted audio proof there you go. and suprise suprise you still dont believe.

i do believe this is genuine. adam does sound very 'sleepy' in the audio and different to how he sounds awake if that mkes sense?

good luck to you both and for those who still dont believe then just get the feck off the blog and find yourselves a sense of humour.

  39. And how do we know you aren't jus making this up as you go? Anyone can make this stuff up and post it on the internet.

Now you are selling TShirts and you say you are not cashing in on this!?! Garbage!

How can the press and public be so stupid? An advertising exec and web project manager - and you're telling me this wasn't "planned"?

IF your ramblings are not pre-thought out (which I doubt) and you do say these things in your sleep, you may have serious psychotic issues and you should find some help before you do something nasty to someone! If these things were said while you are awake, you would be sectioned into care!

You sad people out there should spend more time helping people that really need it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Great interview! Adam's sleep talking is a lot less animated than I imagined from the way I read your blog but nonetheless still just as funny!! For those people *still* being negative (case in point above), if you're so peed off by it, why read it and why waste your energy commenting on it? Fools. Anyway to Karen and Adam, thanks for posting these ramblings they really bring a lots of laughter to me and to a lot of other people.

    xx

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Anonymous,
If you really "hate" it that much, why bother posting? Jealousy? Aren't you the one whos "wasting time"? Shouldn't you be "helping people"?

Karen & Adam make us laugh. But I guess your too bitter to let anyone be happy. And guess what, by making people laugh, Karen & Adam ARE helping people, they are helping us. By starting our day with a joyfull quote, Life just seems so much nicer.

You must be real tough posting under Anonymous... I guess your little bubble must be a real sad little place.

Anyways, back to the real topic! :)

Was great hearing Adams real voice!!
    Greetings from Germany!

  43. I was so shocked to see you on This Morning having been introduced to your blog by a friend only last week. Good work. Hilarious stuff.

  44. Karen, I believe sleep talking can occur in both non-dream and dream sleep. Therefore is isn't correct to say it does NOT happen during your dream state.

I'm not disputing that the sleep talking was something that happened and you wanted to record it for amusement. However, I get the sense now that your husband it all too aware of the attention any utterance will get. It is beyond possibility that he is wide awake and saying lots of amusing things? Do you have a timing on your recordings to know when they happened? If I was him, I'd be tempted to say all sorts at various hours of the night, knowing they'll be on a blog and read across the world tomorrow.

If you aren't duping us, then I wonder if you are being duped here?

    ReplyDelete
  45. @The Thinker
The expert on the show said that sleep talking DOES NOT occur during dream-state, but during some almost-wake state. I think that's what Karen referred to.

Also, keep in mind that you're actually accusing a husband of deceiving his wife. And this is no small white lie, but a huge scam.

  46. A friend of mine sent me the link to this site, and I am so so grateful to him--and to you, for posting this for us! Reading this lovely nonsense makes my heart happy. My roommates and I have laughed till we cried all weekend. I was looking forward to audio clips (really want to hear how they sound in life!!)--saw the Youtube clip, thanks for the US link--and really want more!!
    Two thoughts occurred to us:
    a. An insomniac and a sleep talker . . .sounds like a marriage made in heaven.

    b. It must be like Christmas every morning, getting to play that tape!!!

Cheers! Keep the nonsense coming! :)

  49. Awww! You both seem very sweet! I discovered this the other week via Twitter and have loved every entry! I apparently sleep-talk myself, so I have no trouble believing it. I've said some strange things, but not half as much fun as Adam's!

I like the cute and surreal ones best, but the egocentric and rude ones are also very funny!

  50. dont listen to the people bashing your blog! even if you were making it up (which i dont think you are) its still funny enough to make peoples days so good for you!

  51. Have you thought of adopting a theme tune? I'm pretty sure that 'Sweet Talking Guy' by the Chiffons could well be adapted successfully, I can imagine it being played before an early morning breakfast feature on the radio.

  55. When I was in college, I shared an apartment with my sister and her boyfriend for a while--after spending a year of school in England, by the way! Brian stayed up reading some nights while Nance slept. She said some amazing things from time to time, and we started writing them on the wall in the kitchen. (What can I say? We were bohemians...)

I totally get what Adam is doing-- I love it, and thanks for making this your kitchen wall for all of us!
